About Stitchi
Stitchi helps Marketing and HR teams create and deliver thoughtful branded merchandise for events, onboarding, recognition, and gifting. We bring creative direction, sourcing, production, storage, and fulfillment together, supported by software that keeps the work organized. Based in Detroit, we help companies make products people want to use and keep.
About the role
You’ll build and improve the software behind Stitchi’s client experience and daily operations. This is a hands-on full-stack role spanning our website and Stitchi Operating System. You’ll work closely with the people using the software, turn complex workflows into clear product experiences, and own features from the first conversation through release and ongoing support.
What you’ll do
- Work with account, production, and operations teammates to understand their workflows and decide what to build or improve.
- Deliver features across the interface, APIs, and data model, keeping the experience coherent from start to finish.
- Build dependable integrations and background workflows that connect business systems and reduce manual work.
- Protect customer and business data through careful authorization, tenant isolation, input validation, and secure handling of credentials.
- Write maintainable code, meaningful tests, and practical documentation; review changes and explain technical tradeoffs clearly.
- Investigate production issues, improve observability and performance, and follow fixes through to verification.
- Plan changes and migrations so existing data and workflows remain reliable as the product develops.
- Help establish good engineering habits and choose straightforward solutions the team can maintain.
What you’ll bring
- Experience independently delivering and supporting substantial web application features in production.
- Strong TypeScript and JavaScript skills, with experience in React and server-side application development.
- Working knowledge of relational data modeling, SQL, API design, and third-party integrations.
- Good judgment about testing, security, reliability, and the scope of a useful first release.
- Ability to understand an operational problem, communicate with nontechnical teammates, and turn feedback into a better product.
- Experience reviewing code and helping other engineers make sound decisions.
- Next.js, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, workflow automation, or multi-tenant business software experience is helpful.
Our stack
Our codebases use TypeScript, React, and Next.js, with Node.js services, GraphQL APIs, and PostgreSQL-backed data workflows. You don’t need experience with every tool, but you should be comfortable working across the stack and learning the parts you haven’t used.
What success looks like
Teammates and clients can complete their work with fewer manual steps and fewer surprises. Features solve a clear problem, releases are dependable, and the code and documentation make the next change easier.
How we work
We take ownership, communicate clearly, and close the loop. We raise problems early, bring options, and improve how the work gets done. Craft, reliable follow-through, and respectful feedback matter here.
How to apply
Email your resume and a short introduction to careers@stitchi.com. Tell us about a product or system you helped ship, the decisions you owned, and what you learned after launch. Include relevant work or code links if you can share them; public open-source work is not required.
Stitchi is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome different backgrounds and perspectives, and encourage you to apply if you can do the work even if your experience does not match every qualification.
